Meli ("we," "our," or "the app") is a gentle daily-reset app made by Amped Management ("Amped," "we"). This policy explains what we collect, what we don't, and why. The short version: your journal and reflections stay on your device by default, and we designed Meli to ask for as little as possible.
Your journal entries, tiny wins, evening notes, weekly reflections, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not upload, read, or back these up to our servers. If you delete the app, this on-device data is removed with it.
If you turn on the gentle reset, Meli uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework to notice when you've spent your chosen amount of time in apps you select. Apple does not tell Meli which apps you choose — we only receive anonymous references. This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.
If you create an account, we collect your first name and email address through Firebase Authentication (a Google service) so your name and settings can move with you to a new phone. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email from that provider. We store this basic profile in Google Firebase (Firestore). We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
If you choose to use the "Take it deeper" feature, the words you wrote that morning and the messages you send in that reflection are transmitted to our secure server function and then to Anthropic (the makers of Claude) solely to generate a response back to you. This happens only when you actively use the feature. These reflections are not stored on our servers after the response is generated, and they are not used to advertise to you. Anthropic processes them under its own terms as our service provider. You can turn this feature off entirely in Profile → Reflection.
Meli Plus subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us anonymized purchase and subscription-status information so we can unlock features.
We don't sell your data. We don't serve ads. We don't track you across other apps or websites. We don't run analytics that profile you.
You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Account → Delete account, which removes your account and profile from our servers. Your on-device journal is removed when you delete the app. To request anything else, email us at the address below.
Meli is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app.
